I love h/c!
I've been re-reading a lot of my favorite h/c stories this weekend - in both Sherlock Holmes and LOTR. I just have this thing where I love Watson, or Frodo, all sick or hurt, or something, and Holmes or Sam is worried sick about him. Prolonged illness, high fever, serious injuries, etc., - I can't get enough of them! Mentions of Watson/Frodo getting desperately thin are even better. I'm slightly worried that I love this type of story so much, but not worried enough to stop reading them!

Unfortunately, I've read all my favorites so many times, I know some of them almost by heart. But they're still great!

I've fallen quite behind on reading/reviewing new stuff lately, so I'm sorry if I seem to be ignoring anyone's stories. I promise I'm not ignoring them, it's just been hard lately for me to keep focused. I appreciate all my lovely writer friends so much. You're all an extremely talented bunch, and I'm so glad you share your wonderful stories. Love to all!

In other news, I am now the parent of a 20 year old! *gasp* Hard to imagine that my baby is all grown up and no longer a teenager.

We're off on another whirlwind trip tomorrow - to Branson, MO, this time - so I'll be back online on Wednesday. Have a great few days till then!

Ah, hurt/comfort. I like it too, as you can probably tell. Especially the comfort part!

IMO, there's never enough of it. I'm like an addict, desperate for the next hit!

I hope you have a great trip.

I re-read my favorite hobbit h/c stories quite often, too. :)

Thank you, we did have a good trip.

Re-reading all those favorite stories is great fun, and sort of comforting, too, isn't it? Like visiting a familiar place or an old friend!

H/C is just so darn addicting! :) I think it may appeal to the part of ourselves that both needs to care for someone and wants to be cared for in return. And hurts of various natures provide the catalyst and means of showing that caring. Plus it's fun! XD

LOTR -- heavens, yes! Except my favorite beaten-up hobbit was Pippin (followed closely by Frodo with the occasional torturd!Merry). I was disappointed that in ROTK the movie they didn't show Pippn getting smushed by the troll. Ah well. That's where the "mostly bookverse" fanfic comes in.

(Running out of new h/c, are we? Even with Watson's Woes? Guess we'll just have to be that much more productive. And btw, don't think I've forgotten about the w.i.p. you've got where Watson ends up bed-ridden and weak but on the road to recovery!)

I haven't forgotten about that wip, either. But it's definitely stalled, and I'm not sure when I'll get around to more.

I wouldn't call what I've got "writer's block", since I'm really not much of a writer, but maybe more of "writer's apathy", which seems to be afflicting many of my favorite fandom writers also. Maybe the upcoming movies will help.

*Pippin getting smushed by the troll would have been nice to see, wouldn't it?*

I know; I do the same thing (re-reading fics, I mean :) so at least you're not alone!

Congrats on your youngest child's 20th birthday!

Oh, OK :) You said it was your "baby", so I thought it was the youngest :)
